As a Faculty of Communication and Design (FCAD) initiative, Kaleidoscope is proud to:
1. Build a collective identity
We hope to form and represent a collective identity of FCAD; an identity that we as students are proud to be a part of, and one that the broader creative sector can better draw from and understand. The publication is meant to represent the skillful, forward-thinking, unique students within our faculty by showcasing their works to form a collective identity.
2. Be an accessible platform
There’s a continuous stream of amazing content being created, but oftentimes it’s hard for students to find the avenues through which they can get their work out there. That’s why Kaleidoscope is designed as an accessible platform, meaning that we accept a variety of students and their works with open arms.
3. Encourage creation and cross-collaboration
Creative fields are becoming increasingly interconnected. The lines that once separated film from graphic design and professional communications are blurring. We recognize that FCAD students are extremely multifaceted, and it would be very restrictive to box these individuals into their respective school. Kaleidoscope is, therefore, a platform that is equally as dexterous as you are. We break beyond the school divisions and recognize FCAD as one unified whole that works best together.
